The nutmeg tree is from the genus Myristica. The most commercial species is from Myristica fragrans, an evergreen tree indigenous to the Banda Islands in the Moluccas of Indonesia, or Spice Islands.

Store in a cool, dark, dry environment when not in use. Note that some essential oils and absolutes may naturally solidify when cool. Keep powders in air tight containers and limit exposure to air and moisture, otherwise they may harden.
